One primary component of the numerous health-related youth fitness tests that are being used is a measure of abdominal strength and endurance. The curl-up or crunch has been adopted because it provides a non-biased measurement, which is easily performed in a large group setting.
To Perform The Test Correctly...
Students should be positioned so their fingertips touch the beginning of the Crunch Strip. When they feel the end of the strip, that is the signal to stop. They then return to the starting position with their back flat on the floor, finger tips at the beginning of the strip.
