The "competitive fairness" method is used for "leveling the playing field," or to even the odds of winning. It provides a way for the losing team to win, instead of the same team winning all the time and keeps the games exciting by preventing "runaways."

How The Equalizer Goal™ Levels The Playing Field
The first of it�s kind, the 3'W x 2'H (heavy duty 1-1/2" PVC pipe) Equalizer Goal allows you to make multiple adjustments prior to, or during the game.

As part the Big Red Base System, the goal may be easily moved and positioned on the court.
The Sportime aluminum post adjusts from 65" to 96", in 6" increments.
Two instant-fold hinges allow the face of the goal to be moved (in approximately 50 increments) from a vertical to a horizontal position.
To change the level of difficulty, simply lock in your desired goal mouth angle with the built-in, flip-lock levers.
